Welcome to our School

Welcome to Stanthorpe State Primary School 's website. We hope you find these pages informative and helpful, whether you are contemplating enrolling a student here or are already enrolled in our wonderful school.

Stanthorpe is a rural town located in the centre of Queensland 's Granite Belt approximately 240km South West from Brisbane . It is well known for it's wineries, accommodation, restaurants and glorious National Parks. It has four distinct seasons with a particularly cold winter. Economic growth is based upon agriculture and tourism.

We are a well-established school in a very supportive community.

Stanthorpe State School is a Band 8 School, providing quality education for Prep to Year 7 students for currently 425 students in a variety of single year level and multi-age classrooms.

Our families are from a range of social, economic and cultural backgrounds. Students all have significant differences in their life experiences; from those who have been at 5 schools, to those who have never left the district; from extended multicultural families to single parent and newly blended families. Given this diversity and change, we provide a consistent approach to enable students who are strong in themselves (emotionally and intellectually) and welcoming to others.

Our teaching staff are very experienced and caring. They are committed professionals whose focus is building strong learning relationships with students. Students find school to be very needs satisfying as they build friendships, learn and have fun.
