Stanthorpe State School provides students with many opportunities to participate in activities and programs that are extra to classroom curriculum.
Small groups of students have also participated in enrichment programs, such as the Opti-MINDS and Brainways 'The Quest' team challenges. In our first year of entering The Quest, our team made it into the state finals in Brisbane!
Our Arts program
provides opportunities for students to optionally participate in extra arts
activities either before school and during lunchtimes. These extra-curricular
Arts opportunities provide access to competitions such as Border District
Eisteddfod and Granite Belt STEAM competitions. Students can currently
participate in choir, drama, dance, or STEAM.
The most easily accessible extra-curricular program is the Instrumental Music
Program. Music contributes to the artistic, cultural, intellectual,
psychological and social development of the child. In our instrumental
music program, students receive weekly lessons, participate in the school
concert band or string ensemble, and have the opportunity to attend regional
instrumental music camps.
